Horizontal axis marine turbine Fri-El SEA-POWER Project

The development of the innovative system is the brainchild of Josef Gostner, administrator of FRI-EL GREEN POWER S.p.A and the research project, in collaboration with the FRI-EL, is still ongoing. Were carried out numerous tests in the towing tank of the "Federico II" and will be controlled FRI-EL SEA POWER SpA to create a prototype full-scale 500 kW whose design is already well advanced.

The system consists of a floating body, fixed to the seabed, which are connected to 4 "lines" which are mounted on each of the five horizontal axis turbines. Each row is also the transmission of motion and power produced by all the turbines. In the figure on the left, the CAD image simulates a single "line" with 3 turbines mounted.
