Flight Dynamics
The ADAG research group has developed a flight simulator called JDYNASIM, available on the web. The flight simulator, recently rewritten in Java language, allows any user on internet to perform an interactive flight simulation session of the aircraft flight. The code reads as input all the aerodynamic output curves of AEREO code and allows the simulation of all maneuvers of an aircraft. Comparison between flight simulation and flight tests results for the stall maneuver of P92 aircraft has given a good agreement. In the field of flight mechanics some work has been done on the development of some numerical codes for the prediction of aircraft performances for particular configurations and particular conditions.
Investigations on light aircraft longitudinal and lateral stability analysis have been carried out. In particular detailed analysis of stall maneuver and all-movable horizontal tail behavior have been performed.
Recently the group began working on roll maneuver and aileron effectiveness of light aircraft.
